Many times when i give an opinion on watches i get asked the question . Where did you read that ? Or how do you know that is the truth . I can honestly say that most of the time i cannot remember where i read it or know it is the truth .
I will try to explain this . I read about watches everday for at least 2-3 hours . I can read ca. 3000 words a minute and i can remember most of what i read . I was born with this talent to read very fast and to remember . I love to read , and i would do it for 12 hours a day if i did not have to work
So i hope you can understand how many facts are going through my head all of the time . I am good at remembering what i have read , but i never concentrate so much about or remember where i have read these facts . I do not think i am the only person who reads things without remembering where they googled or read them in a book . I read only to learn something new , anything i have seen before is ignored . This is maybe why i do not have a great job or education .
I do know that 99% of what i read about watches is just an opinion and quite often not based on any real proof at all . The question is who do you believe ? I can answer this quite simply . You can only believe in yourself . Watchmaking may be a kind of science , but talking about them is not . It does not matter who you are , you have a right to an opinion . And this opinion is for the most based on reading other opinions . Others might shoot your opinions down , and make you feel a bit of a fool for not doing more research . I say learn from your mistakes , but never think you are a fool . A fool is someone who never learns from their mistakes .
One of the most irratating things for me , is when someone asks me to prove what i have written . Or can you give us a link to where you read that . They can run and hop
. I might post a link if i think it is relevant , and i can remember where i read it . But i am not going to waste a hour or two trying to find it for them . If they do not believe what is my honest opinion , well that is just to bad . I know that most people on this site are giving a honest opinion , and i would never entertain that they are telling lies . I believe peoples opinions are honest untill the opposite is proved . So come with your opinions , this is not a school or a place of work . It is just a forum for opinions .
