This brand was founded in 1997 by Federico Massacesi . When Panerai moved the production
of their watches from Florence in Italy to the swiss alps , they left behind a lot of craftsmen who found themselvs out of work . These were the same people who you could say made Panerai what they are today . But Mr Massacesi had an idea how he could use these craftsmen to create a new watch brand .
The thing that makes Anonimo watches special and that has given them many fans around the world is the unique way they make their watch cases . Their watch cases are not stamped out or heated like conventional cases . They have a remarkable System invented by a father and son team , who have developed a method of scouping the metal out of a case without heating it . This method does not change the molecule structure of the steel and gives stronger cases .
They have also developed a method of waterproofing their leather watch straps . You can use them for diving in salt or freshwater . They soak the leather in a special solution of mixed oils and chemicals , also invented by them .
They use ETA quality calibers that are modified and finished to a high standard in their watches .
I really like this brand because there is quite a bit of handwork involved in the making of their watches . And i like their some what conservative styling . Their watches are made to be used not just looked at like many other brands . And i think you get a awfull lot of quality for the money if you buy used . I will own one sooner or later .
