Panerai watches are charming to look at , and i understand why people like them . But they are really just a design watch like Gucci or Brietling . There is no real watchmaking skill in any of them . JLC make the real top calibers for Panerai and develop them . I think that without a doubt they are one of the most overpriced watches you can buy . Jeg tror, at Willys argument er, at det er andre som udvikler værkerne for dem - i hans argumentation JLC.

Om det er rigtigt ved jeg ikke, men argumentet er jo så, ikke så meget, at værkerne er lavet uden urmager-kvalifikationer, men blot at det ikke er Panerai, der besidder disse kvalifikationer.

Det kunne da være interessant, at få en saglig diskussion om dette !

Interessant. Jeg havde den opfattelse, at Panerai fabrikerede deres egne in house-værker - deraf navnet (ikke at det ændrer min holdning til Panerai-mærket, men blot rart at have fakta på plads Icon_e_smile )

Præcis ! Jeg har det på samme måde - det forandrer ikke mit syn på Panerai eller min glæde ved mit 176, men det er da rart, at vide mest muligt om fakta ! Icon_e_smile

Their new calibers were developed by JLC . They are not a manufacturer and have never been one . There is nothing wrong with their top calibers at all , in fact they are quite good . Panerai were dead and buried until a second rate actor called Stallone wore one of their watches in a second rate film . Then Richmond decieded to milk the cow, and put money and other brands know how into Panerai . They made so many limited editions with cheap calibers that they became a bit of a joke in the eyes of watch specialists . So they enlisted the help of a real brand JLC to try to give them some sort of watch making credibility . I quite like Pams and have owned one . But i do not kid myself into thinking they are a really serious watch making brand . Willy
