I think you have got it wrong with rolex.I have, and still will criticize rolex for many things.But you must give credit,where credit is due.Yes rolex produce around 800,000 watches a year.They also produce watches of such a high standard of quality,that brands who make a few thousand a year cannot match.The insides of a rolex are simple ,say compared to a patek or lang.And not finished to the highest standard.But their is not much,if anything in the watch industry that can out preform a rolex for strength or accuracy.Yes their are many who buy rolex as a status symbol.That has got nothing to do with their watches.As for the red subs,green dials etc,etc.Rolex may make 800,000 a year but they are not all subs.They make many different models,and in the sixtys and seventys production was not so high.So their are not so many red subs in this world ,as you would think.Remember this,all brands would love to sell as many watches as rolex if they could.Rolex are not the highest ranking brand in swiss watchmaking if we are talking about haute horlogerie.But they are at the very top if you want quality watches,and great service. willy
