Hej

What tænker I?

Ultimativ ? I hope he is joking. There are just thousands and thousands of these brands releasing the same watch in different cases every year. Sitting in a office some where in Europe and sending their designs to China to get made for them.
Many of them are cheeky enough to call themselves watch brands. Buy a old brand name or invent a new one, the game is the same. They all have one thing in common, they are all in it for a quick buck and nothing more.
I know many buy these watches, thinking they get great value for money. But i do not think they have more value than a designer watch from Tommy Hilfiger - Hugo Boss-
etc etc. I have never bought one, and i never would. I prefer to buy something that is made by a real watch brand that holds a certain value and knowing that i can sell again in the future.
Now lots of people will bite my head off, and tell me they sold their micro brand watch, and did not lose any money etc etc. I always tell them to try to take it to a dealer and see
what he will get for it. The fact is that most dealers will not touch them with a bargepole.
I am not saying they do not work okay, and are impossible to service. I am saying they are a lousy investment. made by guys who have nothing to do with watchmaking.

Not saying they are bad watches at all Jacob. They all have simple calibers that work. I just do not think they are
worth buying ,and there are just so many of these people calling themselves watch brands and using advertising
tricks and lies to sell them. Hodinkee are even selling them. One limited edition after the other all saying the
watches are put together by watchmakers at our facility. The same thing has happened to fishing equipment with
all the gear made at the same Chinese factories, only the label on the product is different. If people want to buy them,
that is their business ,not mine. But i would never recommend or buy any of them, because for many it is just money
out of the window. They have no lasting value at all . You do not see many of these watches taken apart and looked
at in detail on the net, or read many reports about servicing or getting spare parts in the future. Nobody is really
worried about this because they are just use and throw away products. Yes you get a big fat sapphire glass, and
a case of 316 steel with a simple ETA or Sellita or japanese caliber inside. But just about anyone can order these
watches with their own specifications, and call themselves a new watch brand today. I wonder how many of them are
still here in say 10 years. Not many i think. So if a guy new to watches asked me what to buy for his hard earned
money, i would tell him to keep well away from these Micro brands . I would tell them to save their money, and
buy a watch from a real brand, that can be serviced in the future and will give them some resale value.
