A member of this forum asked the other day , why we do not have background information on members . I think he wanted to know if they had sufficiant knowledge of watches , before they voiced an opinion on them . He is a nice guy and a watchmaker to boot . But i have to say that he is on the wrong track in this case .
Everybody and i do mean everybody ! has a right to their own opinions on watches . And without the fear that others who maybe know more about watches will not make them feel like a fool . We must respect newcomers and existing members for having an opinion , no matter how ill informed or stupid that opinion might seem to us . Argument and debate is the way forward .
Regarding watch experts . I have never met one in all my years of owning and reading about watches . But i have read about , and have been in the same room with people who have opinions on watches.
