After having written about my small slide rule collection, and the comment about being able to use the circular sliderule on e.g. a Breitling watch for rate conversions, I decided to create a "fixed", circular slide rule, that would allow me to easily convert between two currencies. If you e.g. have a printed copy of this picture
in your purse when traveling to a euro-country, you can easily convert from EUR on the outside circle to DKK on the inside circle as the exchange rate EUR/DKK is quite fixed.
You can create more of these by taking the attached powerpoint presentation and following the instructions on page three. The powerpoint also includes a circle with the exchange rate between $ and € as a sample. You could also use it to convert between metric and english units, e.g. lbs to kg or km to miles.
I hope you find it useful.
I also have a version in LibreOffice Draw - send me an email if you want it.
Og jeg har altså bare skrevet ovenstående på engelsk for at en google søgning vil finde dette!
