The only way you can get close to the truth about watches and brands is to read all the reviews you can on the net . Many of the great watch critics of the past have been thrown off sites , or told not to make problems . There are a few good critics out there , but it is not always easy to find them . I read every single review of any watch on the net before i make a opinion . Sometimes i have read over 50 reviews of a watch before i get a general picture of the watch . And then i read everything i can about the caliber , and the manufacturing process . In the old days Walt Oddets and Carlos Perez -William Manassa were great critics who did not let the bullshit from watch brands affect them at all . Today many sites including Time Zone are controlled by the watch industry . So my advice to you if you really want to learn about watches is to read everthing you can , and make up your own mind . The watch industry is no different from the cosmetic industry , telling lies is a part of the game . Branding is the name of the game , and it works . you only have to go on any watch site and critizise any well known brand , and thousands will attack you straight away. Most of them will not even admit that their so called luxury watch has been made on a factory assembly belt and has got nothing to do with real watchmaking . I cannot and will not recomend any site or watch critic to anyone , i think you have to read as many as you can . And most important only trust those who look at watches with a critical eye . Most watch sites are full of people who think that every watch their favorite brand make is fantastic . Make it a habit to avoid these people if you want to really learn about watches . Willy
