Inspired by a debate on another site , i wish to ask a question . How many of us buy watches where value for money is the first priority ?
I can answer for myself in this way . To be honest i do not know if i am getting value for money if i buy a Lange or Patek etc etc . What i do know is that i am getting superb watchmaking skill and finish for my money .
Other mass produced brands like Rolex Omega etc etc are in my opinion most probably earning the same procent profit on each watch made as say Lange or Patek do . It is a difficult question to answer , so i tend to think of the art of watchmaking in this way . Can you say that a Piccaso is value for money ?
