Rolex quartz

I have owned this watch for just a short time but would like to give you my opinion on it.It is in my eyes one of the most beautifull and simple watches i have seen.The face of this watch is clean and classic the way the strap flows into the case is unique to this watch.Rolex did make 1 mechanical watch with this strap but it is very rare.The bracelet James Dowling called the strongest bracelet Rolex ever made is a light catcher supreme.I think Gerald Genta used this watch to inspire his design for the Royal oak.I have never had a watch that i did not think about selling again.This watch i will never sell because everytime i look at it i feel very happy. Willy Ps.It tells the time as well

The Royal Oak is from 1972 so I doubt Rolex was the inspiration. When is the quartz from willy?

As i understand the first quartz models from Rolex were made in 1970.I could be wrong but i have read this on the net.The first models made by rolex were only sold to special customers of Rolex.Maybe Gerald was one of them? Willy.PS.there are many common traits in the Oak and the Rolex

Yes 1970 seems to be the year. I'm not that fond of the ref 5100 design but the later models are very lovely.

another - very hard to prove point - about Gerald Genta is his - either full design of the Omega Constellation piepan - or just part-taking. According to Gentas wife (he is dead as you no doubt know), he did design it, and she has correspondence to indicate that can be through (have seen it on the net). Asking Omega museum, who have 3 people who have been very helpful to me regarding the caliber 321 being build last time in 1960, will not say for certain. They just answered that YES Gerald Genta was involved in the piepan, but they cannot say for certain that it was his design, or he was part of the design team or leading the design team.
