willy Skrev:I can agree with that . The problem is that some firms tell you about problems , and some do not tell you . I respect a company like Toyoto , who tell their customers the truth and fix the problem free of charge . This is however not the case with the watch brands we are discussing here . Willy
It is really not easy fixing the brake or changing something to prevent the car from bursting into flames, without telling the customer. I suppose the risk with watches are smaller, and as long as they deal with the problem as it arises, I can understand they do not call thousands of watches back
Certain things are just not so easy to compare, and certain things hard to hide. I think it was Eisenhower who in an interview was asked. "what would you do if you knew the an atomic war was about to break out on USA, that the first misils were on their way” - and answered- “Wellll - I would certainly not publicize it”

No excuses John . They knew there was a problem with those calibers . I wonder how many people were told it was their own fault for mistreating the watch , and paid for the repair . These are the type of storys we hear . I heard it from a authorised dealer . It is common knowledge now that they had problems with those calibers . You know as well as i do that watch brands in general treat their customers like dirt . If they do not , why does it take 4 to 6 months to get your PP-AP-IWC watch back from a factory repair . I cannot think of any other branch that get away with such rubbish service . And i hear this from dealers who sell their bloody watches . Believe me it is not nice having to tell a good customer who as just bought a 80.000 kr watch , that he will have to wait 4 months or more to get his watch back after a minor repair . So lets stop making excuses for the lousy service some brands have , otherwise they will never get better .
