watchfreak2003 Skrev:willy Skrev:Not really their own work.I have read that JLC developed Panerai calibers and deliver most of the parts. So true inhouse they are not.

At Richemont Group hjælper de brands de ejer med at skaffe stumper hvis det kniber, er vist ikke den største hemmelighed!
Som bekendt ejer Richemont Group bl.a. Officine Panerai, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC mfl.
Hvis man er die hard In-House freak, kan man så ”leve med” at være ejet af Richemont eller Swatch Group?
Er In-House ikke synonym med selvstændighed i ordets bogstaveligste forstand?
Lyser bl.a. Seiko, Rolex & Patek klarer på ”In-House himlen” med det ovennævnte in mente?
Er In-House anno 2012 det samme som for 30 år siden?
Spørger fordi jeg ikke ved det & er nysgerrig. Enlighten me please
Ok i will try to enlighten you even though it might be hard

The Ebauche Tradition as been the mainstay of the Swiss watch industry for many years.Brands using parts even whole calibers from other brands. It is something that is done without a lot of publicity. If a brand makes one caliber in house they can call themself a manufacturer.Even if they do not make every single part of the caliber in house. It is a very costly affair to develop and build a watch caliber. So many use calibers that are developed by the true manufacture caliber makers such as JLC-GP-Roger Dubuis etc etc.The fact is that there are not many true caliber makers in the swiss watch industry.JLC would never tell who they supply to under normal circumstances. But you cannot hide it from all the watch makers in the world. They are very quick to spot a caliber supplied from one brand to another. The fact that JLC have developed calibers for Panerai is well known for those who take the trouble to read about it.Inhouse today is a very tricky question times change and many brands are owned by the same concern re-Swatch-Richmont.I think they use the inhouse label to try to sell more watches for certain brands who are not really inhouse at all.I try to read as much as possible about any brands so called in house caliber before i pass judgement. The thing to do is not to believe all the bullshit brands tell you.But some people will believe anything especially if it is a brand they like
