I have a Rolex oysterdate quartz black dial in almost mint condition box-papers-bil of sale.The reason i bought it is simple it is a unique Rolex made in only 25000 examples.It has the strongest strap ever on any Rolex watch.James dowling told me that.The way this watch catches the light is fantastic it is even better than a Royal Oak in this respect.The Quartz caliber inside is a work of art many consider it to be the greatest ever made.Rolex built this watch to last for ever because they thought at that time that quartz was the future.The first models made have the Beta caliber in them and are very rare.But the Beta does not even begin to compair with the inhouse rolex caliber in my watch.I have owned many watches Patek-Lange-Ap etc etc but in my eyes none of them come close to the simple design and beauty of this watch.I once wrote a piece on a Rolex site about it .As usual the Quartz haters popped up saying they would never own a quartz watch it has no soul etc etc.I replied by saying that my Rolex is rarer cost more to develop and make than any rolex ever made.The only problem i can see in the future is getting parts for it.I think when my son gives this watch to his son he can sell it and buy a new house for the money.It is a long term investment and not a daily watch.If you put hacks in the sharpe edged case of this watch you can ruin it straight away.There are many polished models for sale do not buy them once polished these watches can be ruined.It is very much like the AP Oak in daily use you have to be very carefull indeed.I use it as my dress watch and i am very carefull with it.I will never sell it .
