It is based on an old model,that did have a bit of real history.Buying a brand
name and changing the watch design a bit,does not do it for me.
There are hundreds of brands like this now.I am sure Hodinkee are making
money selling many of these brands ,and recommending them to their readers.
You have to order a certain amount from the Chinese factory to get them made.
That is why many of these new or start up brands are limited editions.I think
300 is the magic number here.
                           Value for money? Yes in many cases,the chinese factories
are capable of making very good products.But many people who do not have
a lot of knowledge about watches,are getting fooled by people who are
starting new brands from a office without any watch making facilities at
all.
                         If you read the Hodinkee review and you have limited
knowledge of how the industry works,anyone could believe what he writes.
We have had this discussion many times on this site,and the same arguments
for and against many times.
                        It is just my opinion that those who say nothing,are not
helping new watch people at all.There are always two sides to everything
in this world.And i for one believe that people who just believe or only
see the one side,are blind and will never learn much about watches.
                               I have read countless reviews like the Hodinkee one,
and i sometimes cannot stop laughing,after reading them.They are a bloody
insult to the people who read their so called watch sites.
                        And i always remember a quote i read many years ago.
The more you insult people.The more insulting they become.
