I agree with Jacob.The days where Patek were at the pinnacle of fine watchmaking
are long gone . Many independent watch makers have surpassed them.And if we are
talking about high end watches on an industrial scale,then Lange are the best in the 
world right now.Now it is all about marketing,and Patek like Rolex are masters of this
part of the industry.
                             The days where people bought their watches only on merit is 
gone.Not saying Rolex or Patek make bad watches,but i do say they no longer make
the best,and they in no way should cost the crazy prices they sell for.

                    And believe it or not,Patek have been loosing the battle to be the
ultimate high end watch,for many years now.Just like most of the general public
think that Rolex make the best and most expensive watches in the world .But 
people with some insight in watches,know the true story.Patek are in the same position
today as Rolex.The public might be fooled,but not the people who know about
watches.
