The word Tool was first used in the watch context to describe a watch that was 
a rough and ready watch,that could take anything you can throw at it.
It was first used many years after the Speedy was invented.The Speedy like
most chronographs is not as strong as a time only watch,and these calibers
do not like extreme shocks.And they are not very waterproof.The Speedy is
a funktional watch and fairly robust.
Tool means something you use to work with in the English language.
But in the watch world the word was first used to describe very tough watches.
And i can assure you the Speedy does not fit into that category.Nobody i know
who collects watches in england would call a Speedy a tool watch.Its a great
watch and i love them,but tool is way off the mark.Just like to add that a
Speedy is not a watch to go swimming with.This puts it out of the category
of a go anywhere do anything watch,ie tool watch.You have to look at the
way a word is interpreted,and the context it is used in.
