Yes it is Michael .I have owned quite a few,and everytime i strap one on the wrist,it feels like an old friend that will never let you down.In my opinion it is one of the greatest watches ever made.In my mind it ranks up there with your Subs and Moonwatches,and it proves that price does not mean everything in the watch world.There are many models,that is true,but basicly they are the same.You can however virtually get a G.shock tailor made for the needs you have ie.10 year battery-sun powered-and a endless amount of functions.You just cannot go wrong with a G.Shock
