Ok Bjørne,nice to hear it from one who knows his metal.But i must say one thing in their defence.I just bought a 5 year old Sinn with tegmented case,it looks like a new watch.I actually banged it into a door edge on purpose a few times to test it myself.Not a bloody mark on it It seems to be a bit like the dashshield treatment Seiko use on some of their watches.I wish my Rolex Explorer had this treatment of the case and bracelet.They can stuff their highly polished so called Tool watches into a certain place,because i am getting another Sinn with this treatment.The butterfly clasp on my sinn is without tegmentation,and it is covered in scatches.So which everway i look at it ,tegmentation works and is a massive improvement over polished steel.
