Sub vs GMT II vs Explorer II

Well having not owned any of the modern subs or dwellers,it is not easy to give a fair opinion.I have however tried them on.I find them all to be more dress divers than Tool watches.I prefere the older models.The new GMT in gold steel is a very beautiful watch indeed,and it tempts me to buy it.The Explorer is a true Tool Watch with no weakness built into it,it is just a solid chunk of metal.And at 42mm is the perfect size for a modern watch.It is easier to read than a Sub or Dweller,and it has the GMT function.It has also a fantastic lume that lasts for a long time.But Rolex and others should go over to gas tube lume on their watches.It seems stupid to me that you have to shine a bloody light on a watch in this day and age just to read it in the dark.And i think the bezel on the Explorer is not a scratch magnet at all,in fact i would say the Subs and Dwellers are just to highly polished for true utility watches.I have just bought a Sinn 857 UTC with tegmented case.I would call this a real Tool watch.I have owned many of the old Subs and Dwellers,and they for me were real Tool watches.The only Rolex left that can be called a true Tool watch in my opinion is the Explorer 2.Most modern Rolex watches have moved into the world of Panerai,the history is still there,but the watches are mostly for looking at.
