Beserk is not a name given to all Vikings.They had a certain group of fighters who as you point out,were on a kind of LSD trip.These warriors were called beserkes,and were feared in battle.From what i read about it in school they were the ones who went first into battle.The english word beserk taken from the Viking language,means that you go absolutly mad,and try to destroy everything around you.If you named a watch beserk,it would most probably go backwards and break.
