You are missing the point.watch experts or watch people rate watches,and then it flows on to the general public.You can go back in watch history and see this.Patek will always sell watches,and be a top brand.But Lange are or will be in the buyers eyes the ultimate.And with a smaller production than Patek,of course a harder to get watch.So there is absolutly no way in 30-40 years time that a Patek will cost more than a Lange.Price is dictated by how many watches are for sale,do not forget this.With a production of 50-60000 watches a year the next 30-40 years Pateks will be fairly common.Also you should remember that it is the used watch market and auction prices that make a watch an Investment.Just imagine how many PP Nautilus watches will be on the used market in years to come.Just look at the Rolex Milgause if you want to see what i mean.You can look at the Classic car market as another example.Rarity is what dictates used prices.Also i think that in years to come,the market for 34-36mm watches will die.And many of the great Patek watches are of this size,and i cannot see these watches rising in price.Some collectors will buy them,but auction prices will fall.A brand like AP who have a more modern approach to their watches will i think,be a better bet for the future than PP.You can guess about future markets all day long.But you cannot manipulate the numbers of watches that are made.
