This is about the last watch,i ever imagined would be on my wrist.I have owned 2 Panerai watches in the past, both 44mm.I love the design of them, but found them uncomfortable to wear.I like watches that are as true to their history as possible, and i think many Panerai models are just to modern looking for my taste. But the Pam 372 changed everything for me.The only thing that worried me was the size of it 47mm !
However looks can be decieving. So when Thomas Chrono got one in stock,i decided to give it a try.It is a big watch but not a bulky watch like the Rolex Deep Sea.And i have to agree with the many reviews written about it,it fits like a glove. It is in fact one of the most comfortable watches i have ever worn. The caliber inside is not a work of art,but it gives a 72 hour power reserve that ideal for a hand wound watch.I got this watch just for the design, and i think it is a very beautifull watch indeed. And it tells me why Panerai have so many dedicated followers in the watch world.History just drips out of this watch, the size and the case form create a perfect picture in my mind of what made Panerai a well known brand.
My Rolex Milgaus GV had to go,to get this watch.I liked the Milgaus a lot but i will never get used to Rolex polishing the middle links on their bracelets.I feel a bit amused with myself, because if anyone had told me that i would consider a 47mm Panerai to be beautifull.I would have said they were insane. How wrong can you get
