Would you call the IWC High End watchmaking or not? Walt calls the LUC caliber maybe the best Swiss caliber of the present day.But how many know about it Icon_blink

Pictures of the caliber parts you see through a glass backcase,do not tell how well a caliber is made or how it is finished. You have to look at the keyless works as well. And not many if any do this today, when they review a watch. Most opinions about calibers are made by self appointed experts, without watchmaking experiece. And i include myself in their number. I just wish we had more of the real experts today, who could dissect watches and tell us the true story.Walt was one of the few who did this. And he caused a veritable shit storm, when he took a good look at a Rolex caliber a few years ago.

But to be fair,we have to remember that a lot of what he wrote is a few years old.And many of the brands have changed their quality up or down in the present day.Rolex definitely upwards i hope.http://www.timezone.com/2002/09/16/the-a-b-cs-of-watch-finish/
