Debate on what it takes to make a high end watch.

Calling IWC high end is going a bit to far,in my opinion.I read years ago that IWC have changed their policy regarding finish.This was in their own magazine,so straight from the horses mouth,as they say.They stated that in the future IWC would concentrate more on basic quality of their calibers,and they scrapped many finishing traditions.This was to get more into line with Rolex.That for me is one more nail in the coffin,for anyone who thinks the finish on a Rolex can be compaired to a Seiko GS.Like Mads wrote Rolex have a quality criteria that is nothing short of fantastic.But finish has never been exceptional.And we must never forget that the Japanese have their own traditions of watch making.And i personaly think it is very difficult to compair watches built from the Swiss Alps to those built in the land of the setting sun.
