Debate on what it takes to make a high end watch.

Pictures on the net do not tell the true story Per.One persons opinion in Denmark including my own,means nothing compaired to international opinion based on some of the greatest watch experts.We all get our information in the same place today.I am not a watchmaker,and Mads is not a watchmaker.I have always tried to put my faith in people who judge watches without bias,and with the right background.We can argue until the cows come home,about finish and what is High End.And this is what makes watches a fascinating subject.For myself,i try to read and learn from watchmakers when ever i can.People like Phillipe Dufour have more weight in my world than any selv appointed expert.James Dowling has written the bibel on Rolex,and is maybe the most respected writer on Rolex in the world.I respect and admire people who fight for their opinions.But i have never read anything on the net that even puts a Rolex caliber close to a Grand Seiko in terms of finish.Maybe i am missing some thing,i do not know.
                               And one last point worth remembering.Many complication watches are notorious for not working as they are supposed to.I read many years ago that IWC produced the most reliable complication calibers.This is also about watchmaking,high or low end.I think it is important to read and listen to the real experts.And i must admit i do not even begin to get close to them,and this is the truth about any of us in the country called Denmark.Opinions are one thing,expertise is another.It is all really down to who you believe
