Der gøres faktisk noget af f.eks. Swatch Group, som har oprettet urmagerskoler i Miami, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Glashütte og Pforzheim. Formålet beskrives på websiden således: "The aim of the Nicolas G. Hayek Watchmaking School is to train professional watchmakers and future heads of customer service for the Swiss watch industry...."
