Seriously many high end Quartz calibers are a better buy than many mechanical run of the mill calibers . Many watch enthusiasts wrongly look down on quartz watches . Usually becauase they do not know anything about them . For example , the caliber in my Rolex quartz was the most expensive and well made caliber that Rolex built at that time . There is just as great a difference between a high end quartz caliber and a cheap quartz caliber as their is between top and low end mechanical . I prefere mechanical calibers , but i have the deepest respect for some quartz calibers .
