The corruption eating watch bloggs

Many of the watch sites i visit have been corrupted by the watch industry . What i mean is this . You take a up and coming watch site that
starts by being very honest and critical when debating watches . This site builds up a reputation and builds a very large user base of visitors
to the site . The industry begins to take notice , especially when their watches get bad reviews that are seen by thousands of would be buyers .

What can they do to stop this ? Well they could buy the whole site , and get rid off all the critical journalists.
This is by the way what Antiquorium did when they took over TIME ZONE . And it worked , like the song says . Where have all the watchmaker
journalists gone . Time Zone is a very civilised site today without any critical journalists , and it is very very boring .

Step number 2 . They start to invite the owner of the site to a few visits to the factory . With of course
free dinners and maybe the possibility to buy a limited watch at a special price etc etc . It takes a lot of moral courage to resist the temptation
watch brands can offer these people .

Hodinkee and especially Benjamin Clymer were one of my favorite sites to visit for a long time . He was an outstanding watch reviewer , who pulled no punches when talking about watches . Today i think he is a disgrace to watch critics everywhere .
And a classic example of all that is rotten in the watch industry . You might be thinking he could sue me for saying this , i can tell you he
would not dare . Because he knows it is true , and it can be proved . He has turned a watch site that was respected by watch people
all over the world , into one of the most obvious selling sites ever seen . You do not believe me ? Just read the old Hodinkee and compair to
the present version . The problem with these sites is that you cannot ever ever believe what you are reading . And for me this is problem
that is becoming more common than i would like it to be . Selling sites like Hodinkee are corrupt . They can protest and scream like children
protecting their sweets . But anyone with more than the intellectual level of a Banana must know it is true . You cannot really believe a persons
written opinion about a watch he is selling on the same site . Or are you a Banana ?
