Reliable Calibers
#1
It would be interesting to get some opinions on watch calibers that have been proven to be reliable . For myself i find it hard to comment
on many vintage calibers , i do not have the great knowledge about them . Modern calibers are usually judged today by feedback we
read on the net . I have been lucky by never really having problems with any caliber in the many watches i have owned . Rolex make maybe
the most reliable and robust calbers . I think this is due to their policy of building them for easy service and with great strength in the
components . IWC are another brand that spend more money and attention to detail in their calibers , that rarely give problems . JLC
are also a brand that strive to give strength and quality in their calibers "http://www.network54.com/Forum/234648/message/1052748253/The+Master+Control+1000+Hours+test.">http://www.network54.com/Forum/234648/m ... ours+test..
And of course we must not forget ETA who have been making reliable and easy to service calibers for years . Omega are ETA and ETA
are Omega . So except for a few blips , you usually get a very reliable caliber from them . I have my suspicions about most High End
calibers , i do not think reliability or strength is the no.1 priority for brands like AP. or Patek etc etc . What are your views ?
