Price has got a lot to do with it , but so has the quality and buyers . Many of these brands are not household names and are not easy to sell again . And how ever positive we try to look at them , it is a hard job to break into the established watch market . Especially for brands that bring nothing new to watchmaking . If they survive it is more to do with branding than anything else . There is a market for this type of watch , and it is a good thing some dealers cater to it . Maybe brands like IWC-Rolex-Omega etc
should consider making low price watches in the Far East ? But that would hurt their image But low price brands are really up against it
when a watch buyer has a choice between a new micro brand watch . Or a used well known brand watch that gives buyers a little more
prestige and survival parts guarantee . I personally would pick any of the two Seiko watches you name , in fact i have owned them
Seiko have quite a lot of prestige in the watch world and are know for making reliable low price watches , and are at last getting recognition
for their High End watches . There is a lot of snobbery in the watch world where some people look down on these small brands . This is
unfortunate , because everyone has to start some where , and they deserve a fair crack of the whip . Sinn started as a micro brand and look
what happened to them ! Sinn achieved this by bringing something new , U-Boat steel and cutting out the dealer network . So i do not
write off any brand . But brands that just stick a cheap off the shelf caliber in a mass produced China case , and then use more Money
on branding than it cost to make the damm watch will never make it to the top . The difficult part today is what to believe and who to
believe .
