I know this is a very unfair match , because Seiko are streets ahead of Patek in most areas of watchmaking . They make a better finished watch
than anything Patek have ever built . And they are technicaly years ahead with new developments in watch making . Also they are masters of
Mechanical and Quartz watches that cover watchmaking fields that Patek can only dream about . They have introduced more new ideas and have more patents than any brand in exsistence . They will service your watch in about 6 days compaired to Pateks 6 months . A Seiko bread and butter model will cost you anything from 2000-5000 kroner . A Patek bread and butter model costs from 100,000 to 200,000 kr.
SO WHY DO MOST PEOPLE DREAM ABOUT OWNING A PATEK ?
Its all about History and of course the most important BRANDING . Some might say they also make sublime tastfull watches with a very high standard of finish . I can agree with this . But if they were in the car making buisness or almost any other field of manufacturer . They would have gone bankrupt years ago . Most of the top Swiss watchmaking brands are doing the same today . They spend more money on branding than they do on giving their customers a good service .
