So high resale price is what defines good value for money for you? That is important, but for me not the only contributor to the "good bang for the buck" stamp.
Most of the micro brands uses ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW200 movements. Not highend, but they are decent and reliable, and more importantly widely servicable. Not anything I would personally just throw away if it stopped keeping good time.
