Empires end with a whimper not a bang

I think that people have to look at how an elitist power structure is built up in countries who have monarchy . Before they spout out ridiculous ideas , such as they have no power or influence . But unfortunatly royalists ignore the facts that are staring them in the face . The captains of the Danish industry , just like the English are connected to the monarchy at the hip . The Whole system is based on a give and take , that as existed for hundreds of years .

They will of course never give away their positions without a fight . And who can blame them . Concerning what they generate of income compaired to the cost of their security and upkeep . The great public are never given the real facts , or the real costs .
When i served in the British military , i was part of a unit that had to escort the Royal Yacht through the Bitter Lakes to the Suez Channel . Including the Fighter planes and warship Escort and hundreds of other military personal the cost was in the millions of Pounds for 4 days work . The funny thing is that no one from the royal Family was onboard the Yacht at the time This was in 1966 , imagine what their security costs today .

It is not about removing an institution just to replace it with another . As Geodoc said , getting rid of something does not solve all of the problems .

But here we are talking about an institution that is based on lies , and does not belong in a society that preaches , all people are born equal . It is not democratic , it is the exact opposite .
