I have no nostalgic feelings for Caliber 2500 compared to the new in-house so I would also choose the newer PO's anytime... but they also cost 50% more or so.
So if one has only the money for an older PO I would not hesitate to recommend this watch (have had mine for 5 years now)... no problems with either movement nor bezel nor anything else
... even the external AR coating is unscratced... and I have in fact worn it pretty much in all sorts of situations
