Its got nothing to do with being a watch snob at all . The truth is that most cheap watches are just mass produced design items , that have got nothing to do with good watchmaking at all . They are quite simply buy and throw away items . It is not a good idea on a serious watch site to tell little white lies to avoid hurting someones feelings . I am absolutly sure that anyone who asks about a watch on this site wants a honest answer . And if they have bought or are thinking about buying a watch , then we owe it to them to give a honest and subjective opinion on that watch .

We cannot and should not try to wrap everything thing up in diplomacy and half truths . Just give a honest opinion and do not think about feelings . This is not a kindergarden and we are not here to protect children . We are talking about watches here not running a class on the works of Sigmund Freud .

My opinion on these watches that cost under 5000kr is that you should take them for what they are . You can get many years of trouble free use from many of them . I own several myself like Casio and Seiko for example . But i would never advise a new person on this site who wants to learn about watches to buy one . I would rather advise that person on a limited budget to buy a Vintage mechanical watch instead . But this is just my opinion . Willy
