Funny how so many buys watches from friends who don´t know it´s copies I have heard about 3 others. 1 guy had A Rolex Daytona 6263, that was orginal movement and brachlet, but the movment had some alienparts inside.
Anyway I have seen a few fakes Rolex on the Internet. I had 2 friends who back in 1987 bouth 2 fakes. Terrible fakes and it was raing on them and Water came in.
Now I have seen doing my close conection to Jan Andersen who was a watchmaker at Ragnar Odense 1 supercopy guld day date with a datecyblos smaler than useal, but the gold was in 18 carat gold and it was a highend chronometer movement inside like Omega used Jan told me. He could hear by the sound of the movment that it was fake, but the movement was topknock. Anyway. The Watch I had checked out for the cheif of psykoogial at Odense Universitetshospital Jørgen Beckmann (on tv from time to time in murdercases before he 4 years ago retired), and he got it from a convenstion in Brazile about 20 years ago. It was a gift. For everyday use he has a 30 years old Rolex datejust and his wife the same and his son A Omega Seasmasater bluebezel diver.
Anyway. About 15 years ago I heard that there were 3 typyes of qualityfakes Rolex. Nr 1 was terrible with cheap chinamovement. The 2. was midquality with Myoyamovment from Japan that Citizen uses, and the 3. was of very high quality movment and the cyplos and the dial was looking really orginal and the gold, if it was a goldwatch was 18 carat gold. Those watches were sold for about 20.000 - 30.000 kr, and were watertight and could last 20 - 30 years if maintained due to the ETA movements.
Anyway about the Watch in question, then If it was me who was to buy a used Omega from a stranger I would like some docemention. Otherwise I would have to go to a dealer with it and pay for a veryfing, and I would rather not waste my time on that. The I would rather find me another Watch. And if it is too cheap and orgianal it could be stolen. However. Sadly to say, then even if a dealer finds that out, then some dealers won´t say it to a custemer. Our polisy was at Sct. Mathias Ure og guld", when we had a Omega Planet Ocean stolen right under our noses. Don´t say a Word if we see it again with a custemer, because taking it from him could realse 4+ hellraisers, and we did not watcn that kind of trouble and danger ourselves. And strange enough. 4 - 6 weeks later after the thief, a custemer came with the Watch and we found out it was the watch stolen from us. He wanted a 75 kr adjustment of the brahlet and we did not say 1 Word about our Watch. It was afterall a 32.000 kr. Watch, and I did not complety agee with the stores policy, but I was not the boss. And I am sure that many watchmakers/dealers things like that.
