Tio Malo Skrev:The only problem i can see with the Sea Hawk and the Oyster Quartz is that because of the way they are made and polished . Both watches would look like shit after years of rough use .Citat:Over de næste 30 år 6 gange service til 27.000 kr.Jeg ved godt, at vi har diskuteret emnet godt og grundigt her tidligere, men mener du rigtigt, at du - som urmager - vil anbefalle for at servicere en Datejust hver femte år ??(!!!)
Og - de uautoriserede tager noget mindre end de minus 30% sammenlignet med en Rolex AD...
Og, back to track og derved emnet:
Mit subjektivt bud for Willy´s "Best all round Watch" vil være GP Seahawk II med sort krokorem + en gummirem for de våde aktiviteter.
Dette sagt udelukkende for ikke at kede folk ved at nævne Rolex Sub i den ene eller anden udgave![]()

I loved my Sea Hawk it was a beautiful watch but more of a dress diver because of the polish work on the case . And i seriously doubt this watch would still look good after rough use.
The Rolex Quartz is a beautiful watch , but just like the AP Oak the sharp edges on the case would look like shit after hard use .
The reason i have so many Rolex watches on my list is that the older Rolex models still look good even after brutal use . In my opinion these models are quite unique in the watch world because of this quality . The new models are in my opinion to highly polished and will show dents and scratches more .
Rolex made watches where the build of the case and caliber are in a class by themselves if we are talking about a watch that can take enormous punishment and still look good . I think this has got quite a bit to do with why they became so popular in the first place .
A bit like the Landrover of the watch world .
When i was in the Military we used to throw our Subs on the floor sometimes , just to demonstate how strong they were . Once on board a Royal Navy destroyer a Machine Rating dropped his Rolex Sub 10 meters onto a steel deck , i picked it up and gave it back to him still ticking as usual .
There are many brands that leave Rolex standing when we are talking about beauty design high end watchmaking etc etc .
But in my humble opinion they have made the greatest all round watches ever seen up to now . Willy
