willy Skrev:Helson are what is called a boutique brand , like Deep Blue and hundreds of other brands . All you do is design a watch and huge factorys in China make it for you . They even do the quality control .
They put a basic ETA or Miyoto caliber costing a few dollars in it and Wupti you have a quite well made watch that has cost you next to nothing to make .
Then they get the sales bullshit machine started up , and when they have finished some people do believe they are a serious watch brand . I am not one of them .
Okay , if the watch was made in europe it would cost more , and maybe the quality would be the same . But basicaly they are just quite well made copy watches , with a few design elements added now and again .
Try to go to a serious dealer who knows his watches and he will never even give you a price for it . He will just tell you to sell it yourself . Unless of course he sells this type of watch , then he might give you a price if you buy another model from him .
There are many brands who are serious , and develop their own watches out there . And they do not cost much more than these China copys . My advice to anyone new to watches would be to buy from a real brand . Willy
