Omega produced more watches than Rolex at that time . Rolex were inhouse Omega were not . Quality wise i think Rolex were better than Omega . Branding was not so important at that time as it is today . Rolex built their reputation at that time for making the most reliable and strongest watches you could buy . Rolex almost built their reputation with the mouth to mouth method at that time , because military and other proffesionals swore by them . Older vintage Omege are i think as good as anything you can buy . But these were made before Omega started to really mass produce watches in large numbers . I think Omega today are trying very hard to put more quality in their watches . If Rolex can mass produce in great quality , then i see no reason why Omega cannot do the same in the future . Willy
