The Shogun is made from titanium and is the treated with a technology called Brightz, so that it shines like steel, and afterwards it is treated with Diashield (diamond shield) which makes it more scratch resistant than steel.
It can of course be scratched, but it is harder to scratch than steel. Hard to tell exactly HOW much more scratch resistant it is, though. I used my Shogun often, and it had no swirlies or the likes when I sold it. Eventhough I am very carefull with my watches, nearly all my steel pieces have swirls and/or scratches on the clasp and to the bracelet when worn for a couple of weeks ...
I bought an Orange Shogun that had been worn as a daily watch for a year, and neither bracelet nor clasp had any scratches. The person I got it from told me that he had used it like he used his other watches, and that his experience was that it was much harder to scratch. Could be that he was just extra carefull, though ... You never know
When it comes to comfort, the Shogun is THE most comfortable Seiko of those I have tried: Low weight and low build and still mounted on a 22mm wide bracelet with nicely finished links
I also mounted it on a used SBBN017 strap - GREAT feel. It was almost as if I did not wear a watch, so back on the bracelet to get just a little sense of the watch
