Rolex is a institution in the watch world.They tend to divide watch freaks in two parts those who love them and those who hate them.I am in the middle i respect them for almost saving the swiss mechanical watch industry by themselvs.Rolex loaned money to many famous swiss brands and enabled them to survive the Japanese quartz invasion.When you think about the amount of watches they produce the quality and reliability is fantastic.I do not like how they manipulate the used watch market just like Patek by buying their own watches and forcing the prices up.They have always been the masters of supply and demand.They are of course overpriced but what is not overpriced today? They do not have the same respect with watch freaks as many other brands but owning a Rolex is like having money in the bank.And last but not least when Rolex unlease a new caliber or watch case etc onto the world you can be sure it is tried and tested beyond believe.Their service is second to none and other brands could learn from Rolex.To sum it up like them or not they deserve our respect for all they have done to keep the mechanical watch alive.
