hannover_dk Skrev:willy Skrev:400 parts in any spring drive and the precision is this the most important invention in the watch world for many years?I think so and i wonder how many brands are knocking on the door at seiko for the right to use it in their watches. WillyI am not sure as such, if I think it is such an advantage with many parts - even an elprimero chronograph has 354 parts I think - and that is not reducing the service price, and now 400 parts without chronograph.
Until I better understand why 400 parts is needed - and the influence on service price (and availability locally) - then I am not sure it in it self is an advantage?
I do believe the spring drive is very interesting technology so I agree with much you say - and I think Seiko will keep the door shut for people wanting that movement for the next few years anyway.

Citat:Come on john this is the first completly new watch movement since Quartz.A lot of parts for a movement in some watches but not in others.I have read absolutly nothing about any problems with this caliber.Give credit were credit is due Seiko have proved once again that the swiss watch industry have a tendency to fall asleep.I think also it is because the swiss brands do not have the rescources of Seiko.I do not think spring drive is the only new idea that will come from Seiko in the future. It has always been a Swiss problem they are fucking greedy willy
