Yes i think many will share movements in years to come.As you know the cost of developing and producing a new movement are very high.But a relativy small company like IWC have done it.What i am trying to get across is this.Mass produced does not mean bad.Look at Rolex if you doubt this.But when some one tries to convince me that these movements are a work of art,that is where i get off the bus.I do not think we will ever again see the kind of finish and handwork that was in watches in the past that could be bought for reasonable money.In terms of what is collectable in many ways Vintage watches are where you can get a work of art for a small investment.I think that the standard of watches today is dropping fast.Maybe an old Morgan was unreliable and a rubbish car to drive.But it was handwork and pride in what they built.I feel the same way about watches.I like firms like PP.AP.IWC.JLC etc etc who try to keep this tradition alive with some of their models.But their are a awfull lot of watch firms who are just living on their names and past achievments.And as you know i do not like them at all.
