Jeg kan ikke nok om Oris til at sige det præcis for det viste ur - men orisforummet Friends of Oris skriver lidt om det, nemlig:
the Acapulco is from the period when Oris was owned by ASUAG (now Swatch) after it was bought out in 1970.
Swatch management pitched Oris as a low-end producer of quartz watches, until the management of Oris cried ENOUGH and bought the company out in 1982, returning to making only mechanicals. Only this time, without the restrictive movement practices previously forced upon it by the industry or its owners.
Oris's churned out the last of its quartzes in the mid '80s, IIRC. A few Acapulcos from that area are very "Miami Vice" (gold plate, grey dial, twin-tone etc).
så jo i en periode - nok fra 70 til midt 80 hvor de var ASUAG (Swatch siden) blev de brugt som et af billigmærkerne med quarts i gruppen. Jeg kan også godt leve uden uret
