Elvis is only respected in the music buisness for his early recordings and his voice . Thats All Right Mama - Teddy Brear- Heartbreak Hotel- Jailhouse Rock etc helped to change the face of rock music . But he wrote nothing himself and in the seventys generation he was finished and young people did not buy his records or go to his concerts . The Beatles and the Stones - Dylan destroyed him completly in the minds of young people . That is why he had to make contracts with Las Vegas Casinoes . He was the inspiration for a generation of rock artists like the Beatles - Stones - The who etc etc . But they discovered that there were many greater black artists than Elvis , who had gotten no recognition because they were black . Chuck Berry is more respected today and has recieved more awards for his contribution to music than Elvis .
The Stones changed the way a whole generation behaved and thought . They also became the greatest live rock band ever , together with Led Zepplin . Led Zepplin are the band in the world who have influenced rock music over the longest period , everything from Rap music to Heavy or Metal . 50 cents - Rage Against The Machine - Metallica - . Rolling Stone magazine called Led Zep the most sampled band ever . And in all rock polls taken amongst rock musicians LZ always get first place . LZ are still selling ca. 10 million a year , and i just read in a English Newspaper that they will overtake the Beatles as the biggest selling group ever in the USA . There are so many misunderstandings about Rock music in Denmark . I blame idiots like Jørgen de mylius who could not get work on a kids music program in England . That man is a joke . Willy
