It is because the Germans and the Japanese recieved Marshall help to build a complete new car industry . The English factorys were out of date and so were the working conditions . And because of a huge war debt to USA the English could just not compete . Margrete Thacher decieded to dismantel the industry and concentrate on high tech engineering instead . Today Ferrari is the only Formula 1 car not built in England . The English are far more advanced than the Germans or Japanese who do not have the know how to build Airplane Engines for example . The most efficiant Toyoto factory in the world is not in Japan it is in England . You cannot beat tradition for building . And the English have been building when the Germans were living in caves . The germans have a good tradition for production . But did you know that in the second world war it took the English 2 years to build a war production that had taken the Germans 10 years ? I like Germans and i have many German friends . Just ask them who they admire most in Europe . Even Hitler admired the English for their inventivness , and so did Napoleon .
