It shows how unresponsive they can be. Lots of collectors have had good
luck with them and like them. I purchased one watch from them, a Lange,
and their price was high ($26,000 USD) but satisfactory FOR A WATCH IN
PERFECT SHAPE. However, they misrepresented the condition to me, failing
to tell me honestly that the crystals and movement were damaged and needed
work -- all because of THEIR watchmaker! Here are photos:

The real problem was getting them to help me after I received the watch. I
said, "I'm giving this to a Lange-authorized watchmaker to repair the
damage your watchmaker caused, and I expect you to pay for PART of that
repair." For the next THREE MONTHS, ToS was totally unresponsive. I would
get occasional emails from them saying, "Sorry, very busy now, will get
back to you soon," but then I would hear nothing. Finally I said, "If you
don't reimburse me for part of the repair cost within the next 1 week, I
will post full details of this transaction on DealWatch." THEN I received
the money. Also, the purchase price included a custom short strap, to be
delivered in October 2004. I never received this strap, and when I
inquired about it, ToS said nothing. Then, in March 2005 (5 months later),
they sent me the strap and some cookies, I think because they knew I was
telling people about this transaction. So, I do not consider ToS reliable
if you have a problem (although they are VERY polite, especially Daniel!).
If you want a really good, reliable Swiss gray-market dealer, you should
speak with Markus Tschopp of Silvermagic (www.smwatches.com). Markus and
wife Bettina are wonderful -- many flawless transactions with them. If you
don't already know Markus, please tell him I referred you. His email is
markus@smwatches.com. Markus is my favorite watch dealer, including US
dealers (I'm in the US).
