Excellent condition Rolex double red writing Sea Dweller reference 1665 dating to 1977 with Rolex calibre 1570 chronometer rated movement. This is one of the rarest and most sought after Rolex models, with of course exception to the Daytona. They have been slowly increasing in value and continue to climb as they become harder and harder to find. Putting hard earned money into a pension just to see it erode way due to poor management and unstable economies does not make a great deal of sense. Investing in something like this will deliver a return 10 fold of what it would in some demeaning financial investment. The Rolex "Double Red" Seadweller reference 1665 was the first Rolex Sports model to achieve cult status among Rolex collectors and enthusiasts. Moreover it is a professional diving instrument and was the same Sea Dweller that was issued to the Comex divers, who worked at intense underwater depths laying pipelines. A watch needed to stand up to these terrible work conditions and the 1665 did the job perfectly. It has a thick case, thick domed plexi crystal, triplock screw down crown and helium escape valve enable operation in these adverse conditions. The depth rating is 2000 feet or 610 metres. It has been well looked after, some marks to the bezel, but comes with spare bezel and spare crystal. Dimensions are: width is 40 mm excluding crown, 43 mm including crown and 47 mm lug to lug and thickness is 17 mm
