Sorry Klaus i do not agree with anything you have said so far in this debate.Watches become Classics and collecter items because of many factors. The Rolex Oyster was the most famous waterproof watch in the world not the Sub.The sub was a development from the Oyster but today Subs are more collectable than Oysters.Dive watches will always be around just ask any prof diver. It is the quality and uniqueness that makes a watch into a classic and it must be popular with watch buyers Watches like the Oak -Sub-Pam etc did this years ago that is what made them collectable. The Sinn is sold all over the world and is already a cult watch in nearly every watch blogg you could ever read.Even the Purists who are very critical indeed about watches, have the Sinn down as a future classic. It is unique it is very popular and it does not cost a fortune.I think the watch industry will go bankrupt if they stopped making divers Icon_e_biggrin1 It will never happen. The IWC aquatimers are water proof to 2000 meters without a helium valve because quite simply they are better made than most other divers. They are already very collectable and guess what, that means future classic. If you read about the development and research involved in making watches like the Sinn and IWC and the following they have around the world already it is not to difficult to see that they are already on the way to becoming classic watches.I will give you one more example. The Lange Datograph is another watch that is 110% sure to be a future classic and for none of the reasons you have named so far.
