Having owned many automatic watches , i have this to say . I have never had a auto watch that kept perfect time , unless i wore the watch
for over 8 hours a day . I wind my watches every second day and never get problems with losing or gaining . Winding efficiency is different
from brand to brand . The IWC Pellaton is considered to be one of the most efficient self winding mechanisms ever . But it is totally dependent
, just like any others on the time you wear the watch .
Do people really believe that just because you buy a automatic watch , they should never have to wind it ?
If they do , they are living in coukoo land . There are so many factors that come into the time keeping of any watch that have not much
to do with the mechanism inside the watch . Because they tell you a watch has a reserve of 48 hours , take it with a pinch of salt . Because
that is only with optimal use . Just like the 0 to 100 kilometer time that car brands try to fob you off with . My advice to anyone with a
automatic watch is to wind it up by hand now and again . And stop worrying about a often fictional power reserve .
